FL Green Team Facility is Solar Powered!

The FL Green Team doesn't just promote energy efficiency, we live it! Our corporate headquarters and showroom are housed in a 21,000 square foot office building and warehouse in Fort Myers, FL powered by a 12.6 KW solar electric system. Serving the Ft. Myers & Naples area, this is one of the largest facilities dedicated to energy efficiency and conservation in the nation. 72 Solar World solar electric panels on our roof are grid tied and provide the electricity for all of our daily needs. Two 6,000 watt Sunny Boy inverters inside of the building, convert the DC current produced by the panels to AC current electricity. The FL Green Team is a carbon neutral facility, meaning we produce enough electricity to offset our consumption on an annual basis. In the event that we produce more electricity than we are using, the meter runs backwards and the utility company buys the power back. The system is the most efficient on cool sunny days, however as long as the sun is shining, we are producing electricity.

Recently, we installed high efficiency air conditioners and replaced all of our lighting with high efficiency light bulbs from Renaissance Power Lighting Technology. The lighting consumption of the FL Green Team has been reduced by 75%. The electric bill for our entire Ft. Myers facility is sometimes as low as $8!
